The P1 used four leading edge sections, each approximately 10' long (one section has a 2" overlap to the other).

Leading Edge Tests
Leading edge test coupons were made in later 2006. A larger leading edge test section was made in February 2007.
Leading Edge Sections
Because I used a negative mold (the mold surface represents the outside loft line) all of the wet glass had to be placed inside, which was really difficult and time-consuming (8hrs crouched over for each). If I had to do it again I would do a male mold (basically the leading edge shape) and just deal with the surface finishing afterwards. In all it took 6 layups to get 4 leading edge sections I was happy with.
